Welcome to Ms. Ledesma's Second Grade Class!
Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! I am so excited to be your student's second grade teacher!!
Every month, the students are given a virtues home project. This month's virtue is courtesy. Courtesy means being thoughtful of others. Please practice the virtue of courtesy with your students throughout the month of November. Choose one or a couple activities to do as a family. Then, have your students write what they learned and want to share in the community.
This month's virtue project is due this Wednesday, November 20.
- Choose some of the following courteous phrases and practice using them this month: “Please”, “Thank you”, “You’re welcome”, “Excuse me”, “Good morning”, “How are you today”?
- Practice making eye contact with people who talk to you and listen to what they say.
- Practice how to wait for your turn. Stand nearby and wait patiently. Say “excuse me” softly, then step back and wait until they answer.
- Talk about something you share in the classroom. When you are finished using it, what is the courteous way to make sure it is ready for the next person?
Our class will be singing the hymn How Great Thou Art at this month's virtue assembly on Friday, November 22. Please practice with your students throughout this month.
