  Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! I am so excited to be your student's second grade teacher!! 
  
  

  Every month, the students are given a virtues home project. This month's virtue is forgiveness. Forgiveness means pardoning those who offend you. Please practice the virtue of forgiveness with your students throughout the month of April. Choose one or a couple activities to do as a family. Then, have your students write what they learned and want to share in the community.

   

  This month's virtue project is due Wednesday, April 16.

  - Discuss the virtue of forgiveness: What happens to a person's heart if they don't forgive? Can I forgive people who don't say they are sorry? Pray the Other Father together. From this prayer, what can we learn about the importance of forgiveness?
  - Practice saying "I forgive you" when people have hurt you.
  - Saint Patrick used the shamrock to teach people about God. He said a shamrock is one plant with three leaves, so there is one God in three Divine persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The one God who is three persons is called the Blessed Trinity. How many times can you forgive someone today?
  
  Please practice the poem The Way Called Love by Christine Mitchell throughout this month. The students will be reciting the poem on Friday, April 18 at this month's Virtue Assembly.
