ST. MARK PARISH SCHOOL STUDENT HANDBOOK
MULTI-HAZARD PROCEDURES

  • Fire drills are conducted regularly. Students are educated about the seriousness of these drills, and are expected to file out of the building quickly and quietly.
  • Earthquake drills are conducted once a quarter. Students are educated about the seriousness of these drills because of the likelihood of an earthquake in the greater Seattle area.
  • Lock Down drills are conducted periodically as well. Students are educated about the seriousness of these drills, preparing for the possibility of an intruder on campus, in which case the students remain in lock down until the drill is complete.
  • Emergency preparation kits are required for all students and staff members in the event of a possible emergency (earthquake or heavy snowfall) that might keep students and school staff members at school for an extended period of time. These kits should be in all classrooms by the second week of school.
