2nd Grade
Welcome to Ms. Ledesma's Second Grade Class!
This month's virtue and saint focuses on diligence and St. Andre Bessette. Deligence means doing your best and working hard until you're finished. Please choose one or a couple activities to do as a family. Then, write about something you learned and want to share in the community.
- Work on finishing puzzles or mazes this month. Don't give up!
- Make a calendar that shows the last month of school. For every day you work your hardest, give yourself one smiley face during the first week, two smiley faces for a "worked my hardest day" in the second week, three smileys in the third week and four smileys per day in the fourth week - because it's harder toward the end! How many smileys would that be if you got them all? How many do you think you can get? Make a goal and try to reach it.
- Choose a chore at home and discuss how you could finish it better. (For example, after you clean your room, could you vacuum it? Or after you feed the dog, do you put things away neatly?) Work on doing your best this month, especially finishing it carefully.
- Read and discuss The Little Engine that Could.
Virtue projects are due Wednesday, May 29!
This month's poem is Spring Wind by Nancy Byrd Turner. Please practice reciting the poem with your students throughout the month.
